2012.10.30: Incomplete!

One of those nights where the lines don't seem to come out right, and the colours don't quite mix the way you intend. Oh well!

  1. Haha, it's alright buddy! I have that almost every night! Do you do a value study before you throw in color? or do you jump right into color?

    1. I used to focus a lot on value studies, but I was kind of timid when it came time to add colour. So one of the many things I'm trying to practice with these studies is how to be bolder with my colours. Hopefully when I get more used to that, it'll impact how things look when I move back to starting off with value studies.

  2. maybe u start from black and white to have value study before move to color. cause it is hard to see the value in color.
u can use the tool hue/saturation and low the saturation all the way down.
so it is easy to compare the value without going back or start from b&w

    1. I used to do a lot of my work as b/w first, then move into colour - I found that my colours ended up being a lot more subdued and timid. I like your idea of testing out the values by getting rid of the saturation when starting with colour though. I'll definitely give it a shot!
